I appreciate Congressman Berman's honesty and courage in speaking out for peace even when most of Congress is eager to push legislation such as the Iran sanctions, which are a quick "solution" that don't address the real issues. I am also glad that APN's work is so solid - so grounded in facts, your press releases so full of truth and integrity - that political leaders like Congressman Berman are able to work with the APN staff to back up their own convictions. Together we are making progress.
It's a strong statement that APN garners such respect from people like Rep. Berman--who doesn't always agree with us but, in his words, knows we are working out of a desire to promote the security of the state of Israel.
Howard Berman is the congressman from my district, and I have voted for his re-election many times. We have corresponded and talked often. I've said that he's a bit "hawkish" for me. However, I appreciate what he says in this short talk about respecting the views of APN; I feel myself to be respected and even a bit influential. We have to keep taking to Howard and other government leaders our vision of what will best protect Israel's security and future. He said so!
