APN offers alternative to Bush's Iran policy

Five former Secretaries of State -- Albright, Christopher, Powell, Baker, and Kissinger -- recently endorsed a position long articulated by APN.

"The United States does not have to like Iran's president to engage in real diplomacy with his country, and engaging Iran in order to safeguard vital U.S. national security interests is not appeasement."

 - Debra DeLee, APN President and CEO

Five former Secretaries of State -- Madeleine Albright, Warren Christopher, Colin Powell, James Baker, and Henry Kissinger -- recently endorsed a shift in U.S. policy vis-a-vis Iran. At a panel discussion televised by CNN they all agreed that it was time for the United States to engage in diplomacy.

This is a position long articulated by APN. Through press releases, issue briefs, op-eds and Action Alerts, APN has repeatedly said that a sanctions-only approach to the threat posed by Iran won't work. We've called for genuine diplomatic engagement.

APN will continue to advocate for sensible U.S. policies to deal with the dangers posed by Iran and to enhance Israel's security through peace.
