APN offers condolences to the friends and families of Ambassador Chris Stevens and his three colleagues

chris-stevens186x140.jpgAll of us at APN are pained and saddened by the deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his colleagues in Benghazi, Libya.  We condemn the violence that took their lives and offer our condolences to their family and friends in this time of grief.  Ambassador Stevens was a champion of everything we support: tolerance, peace, security and stability, democracy, civil rights, and human rights for all peoples of the region.
He was a friend to many of us at APN and at Peace Now, and we knew him well from both his time in Washington and in Jerusalem.  APN salutes Ambassador Stevens and all American diplomats who selflessly and proudly serve our country overseas, putting themselves at risk for the sake of all of us.  We urge American politicians to take a step back and desist from using this tragedy as campaign fodder.  Doing so dishonors these deaths and the service of these proud Americans and their many colleagues overseas.
